New to Church?
Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.
Things are a little different from ‘normal’ at the moment. We are still meeting together, but having to do this in different ways. Please see our Sunday Services page and What’s happening at St Stephen’s for more details. Hopefully we will be able to resume meeting together as below before too long.
Some key information about the church...
We meet twice on Sunday
. People usually arrive 10 minutes early as it helps us to prepare ourselves and get ready to praise and worship God together.
We meet at the church building at:
You can see a map on our contact us page
There is limited parking available on the site.
You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. We sing, read a passage from God's Word, the Bible, and church members lead a time of prayer. We have a talk based on the passage that was read to deepen our knowledge and love of God and to understand how we are to live as His people. There are opportunities for prayer at the end of the service with someone from our Pastoral Team.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.
We have a 'creche' upstairs with a live link to the service so you can still feel part of it. There is a fantastic 'Junior Church' for the children at Church aged 3–10, and a 'Pathfinder' group for school years 6 to 9. Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together for the first part of the morning. We feel it is important to include them in the service as they are just as important to us and God as the adults! The service leader will announce when the children need to go to their programme.
For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the page on Youth and Children's Ministry
under "Church Life".
No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.
